Peaceful polling is underway in Khulna City Corporation (KCC), said ruling Awami League Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak.

"BNP is spreading rumours for raising question over this peaceful polling," he said while addressing a press briefing at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi political office on Tuesday noon.

"Voters, regardless of the men and women, are casting their votes since morning with excitement and enthusiasm. A fair and neutral polling is being held there," he said.

Uttering people will reject the rumours of BNP, Nanak hoped that Awami League will secure win in Khulna city election.

Awami League Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman, Organising Secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Education and Human Resource Affairs Secretary Shamsunnahar Chapa, among others, were also present at the media briefing.
