Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Harun Or Rashid said that although many rumours have been spread about the murder of BUET student Fardin Noor Parash, no concrete information has been found yet.
“I am not saying that Bushra (Fardin’s friend) is involved in this murder, nor am I saying that the murder was due to drugs. Work is in progress to get 'concrete' data in this regard,” said Harun on Saturday while responding to reporters' questions at a press briefing at DMP's media center over the BUET student murder.
In response to a question, he said, "We are analyzing many clues, but we are yet to receive anything concrete [including the murder's reason].
On Thursday, DB was given the job of looking into the murder after Fardin's father filed case with Rampura Police Station.
On November 7, the body of Fardin, a third-year BUET civil engineering student, was pulled from the Shitalakkhya river at Banani Ghat in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj.
On November 4, after dropping Bushra off in the neighborhood of Rampura, Fardin went missing.
