Members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in several
anti-drug drives arrested 32 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs
in the last 24 hours.
The drives were carried out simultaneously at different
parts of the metropolis from 6am on Saturday to 6am on Sunday, according to a
DMP release.
During the anti-drug drives, police seized 910 pieces of
contraband yaba tablets, 115 grams of heroin, 2.850 kilograms of cannabis
(ganja), 142 bottles of Phensedyl, and 7 litres of foreign alcohol, the release
added.
Police filed 24 separate cases against the arrestees in
these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control
Act.
