The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 43 people on
charges of selling and consuming drugs in the capital in the last 24 hours.
Several drives were carried out simultaneously at different parts of the metropolis from 6am on Monday to 6am on Tuesday, according to a DMP release.
During the anti-drug drives, police seized 2,512 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 15.70 kg of cannabis (ganja), 64 grams of heroin, 50 bottles of Phensedyl, and 50 injections, the release added.
Police filed 34 separate cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
