A Dhaka court has fixed January 21 for the decision on charge framing against 25 accused in connection with the killing of Abrar Fahad, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court of Dhaka passed the order on Wednesday after getting the case records.
On January 13, the trial proceeding of the murder case was transferred to the Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge’s Court from the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court.
Morshed Amartya Islam, a fugitive accused in the case surrendered before the court on Sunday last and it sent him to jail.
On December 3 last, a court here ordered confiscation of the property of four fugitive accused in the killing case.
Three other fugitives are Morsheduzzaman Jisan, Muztaba Rafid and Ehtesamul Rabbi Tanim, students of BUET.
The court, on November 18 last, accepted the charge-sheet against 25 accused and issued a warrant for the arrest of four fugitives in the case.
Abrar Fahad, 21, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering of BUET, was beaten to death reportedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university.
