3 to die for war crimes

Three Moulvibazar men were sentenced to death by the International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Thursday for crimes committed during the Liberation War in 1971.

The verdict was announced today by a three-member tribunal chaired by Justice Md Shahinur Islam, according to prosecutor Sabina Yesmin Khan.

Abdul Aziz alias Habul, Abdul Mannan, and Abdul Matin of the district's Baralekha upazila were found guilty.

Matin is still on the run, while the other two are currently incarcerated.
