The protesting students of Jahangirnagar University are continuing their protest on the campus demanding removal of the university’s vice-chancellor over corruption allegations.

A good number of students started the painting in front of the old Registrar Building since the morning.

Some protesting teachers have also joined the students.

The protesting students have staged a demonstration on the campus on Thursday defying the instruction of the authorities.

Since Thursday morning, the protesters from in and out of the campus started to gather on the campus one by one demanding the resignation of the vice-chancellor Prof Farzana Islam.

On Wednesday night, the authorities asked the protesting students not to stage any procession, rally or demonstration on the campus.

Earlier on the day, the JU authorities directed the students to leave the residential halls by 3:30 pm; otherwise, legal action will be taken against them who will not comply with the order.

Then the students left the hall but the protesting students gathered in front of the old administrative building of the campus.

They, at a press briefing, declared that they would continue their movement until the resignation of the VC. Later, they left the campus.

Following the development, the university authorities, in a press release on Wednesday night, said that the students are not allowed to stage demo on the campus.

However, the students started gathering in front of the old administrative building of the campus since the morning.
