BUET students to return to classes if 3 demands met

Students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have announced to continue boycotting classes and examinations until their three-point demand are met.

Aniruddha Ganguly, a student of Computer Science and Engineering Department, made the announcement at a press conference at BUET Shaheed Minar premises on Thursday afternoon.

On Wednesday, police have submitted charge sheet accusing 25 people in the killing case of Abrar Fahad, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

The accused are Mehdi Hasan Rasel, Muhtasim Fuwad, Anik Sarkar, Mehdi Hasan Robin, Ifti Mosharraf Sakal, Moniruzzaman Monir, Meftahul Islam Zion, Amit Saha, Mazedul Islam, Muzahidur Rahman, Tabakharul Islam Tanvir, Hossain Md Toha, Md Jisan, Akash Hossain, Shamim Billah, ASM Nazmus Sadat, Ehtashamul Rabbi Tanim, Md Morshed, Moaz Abu Huraira, Muntasir Al Zemi, Mizanur Rahman, Shamsul Arefin Rafat, Ishtiaq Ahmed Munna, SM Mahmud Setu and Muztaba Rafid.

Abrar, 21, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department of BUET, was beaten to death reportedly by BCL leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university. 

He was found dead on the staircase of the dormitory in the early hours of October 7.

Earlier, he was taken to room-2011 around 8:00 pm on October 6.

Victim’s father Barkatullah filed a case with Chawkbazar Police Station in the capital against 19 people over the brutal murder.
