Eight closed-circuit TV cameras have been installed in the courtroom of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain monitored the matter on Wednesday morning.

For the first time, the trial of the Appellate Division began in the morning under the CCTV camera.

Until Tuesday night, eight powerful CCTV cameras have been installed in the Appellate Division's courtroom.

The CCTV cameras have the capability to record audio and video, sources said.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam told The Daily Samakal that the decision to install the CCTV cameras were time-befitting.

"I applaud this initiative," he said.
