Violence against women protested at an event in city

An event titled 'Protest violence against women' was held at Rabindra Sarobar in the capital's Dhanmondi. 

The program organised by Population Services and Training Center (PSTC) was inaugurated through displaying placards featuring various types of slogans of protest on Monday afternoon, said a press release.

Among the dignitaries were present at the event included former Vice Chancellor of University of Dhaka Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique, noted writer Selina Hossain, former secretary to the government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh ASM Mahbubul Alam, Project Director of Directorate of Women Affairs Dr. Abul Hossain, News 24 Head of News Shahnaz Munni, Executive Director of BNPS Rokeya Kabir, Country Director of BBC Media Action Richard Lace, Country Director of MDF Bangladesh Thilakan Sathasivam, Executive Director of RHSTEP Kazi Suraiya Sultana, Actress Golam Farida Chonda and athlete Shirin Sultana.

The honorable guests expressed their solidarity against the violence on women at different stages of everyday life. 

Dhriti Nartanalaya performed their dance items while Bot Tola Theatre arranged a drama and Band Nakshikantha performed some songs on the occasion.
