BUET students declare end of movement

The agitating students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have announced that they will return to all kinds of academic activities, including classes and exams.

The announcement was made at a press conference at the altar of the Shaeed Minar at BUET on Wednesday afternoon. 

Mahbubur Rahman Sayem, a student of 2015 batch of the university, read out the written statement at the press meet.

Sayem said, "We thank the BUET administration for realising our three-point demand within the stipulated time. We are announcing the end of our movement. We will return to academic activities from December 28."

The BUET students took to the streets soon after the murder incident of their fellow student Abrar Fahad, a second-year student of the university. 

Abrar was killed by the leaders, activists of BUET unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League on the night of October 6 at Sher-e-Bangla Hall.
