Coronavirus must be prevented by any means: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed those concerned to prevent coronavirus at any way.
She gave this directive at a special meeting on 'coronavirus' after the regular meeting of the cabinet at his office on Monday.
Health minister, aviation secretary and health department secretary and health experts were present.
Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam told a news briefing following the meeting.
He said the Chinese people, who are working in big Bangladeshi projects and returned recently, have been taken in quarantine and those from Wuhan have been asked not to return to Bangladesh.
About the operation of flights to and from China, he said the flight operators might stop those as they only get 10 or 12 passengers every day.
The cabinet approved in principle an amendment to the existing company law allowing the business entities or companies to be registered without having seals as part of government efforts to ease business regulations.
The proposed amendment to the Company Act, 1994 came along with another draft law, a plan and a protocol at the weekly cabinet meeting at PMO with Prime with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Anwarul said the proposed law would be dubbed “Company (Amendment) Act, 2020.
Designated Reference Institute for Chemical Measurements, Bangladesh Act, 2020 was the other draft law to get cabinet approval with Anwarul saying that it aimed to establish Designated Reference Institute for Chemical Measurements as a statutory body under Science and Technology ministry, separating it from the jurisdiction of BCSIR.
