Defence secretary Abdullah Al Mohsin Chy dies from coronavirus

Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury, Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, has died from coronavirus on Monday morning. 


He was 57.


Mohsin breathed his last at 9:30am, said Former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister and poet Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury.


Abdullah was undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital.


The senior secretary was admitted to the hospital on May 29 after he contracted the virus.


He was shifted to the ICU on June 6 and put on life support on June 18.


Mohsin is survived by wife, one son and one daughter.
