Rain brings respite for Dhaka dwellers
A short bout of rain at 11:00am today brought some relief for residents of Dhaka as a mild heat wave has been sweeping over parts of the country.
On Monday evening, the Met Office forecast said light to moderate rain or thunder showers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds will occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, reports UNB.
Some other parts of the country were predicted to have moderately heavy to heavy falls in 24 hours commencing from 6:00pm on Monday.
The monsoon is fairly active over southern parts of Bangladesh and less active elsewhere over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.
Monday's highest temperature was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius. In Dhaka, the mercury rose to 36.5 Celsius, according to the Met Office.
