Ministry mulls resuming educational institutions: Cabinet Secy

Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam said the concerned ministry is thinking of reopening educational institutions across the country.

He made the statement while responding to a question after a cabinet meeting at the Secretariat on Monday. 

Earlier, a virtual cabinet meeting was held with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

The cabinet secretary said, “The latest notification regarding the Corona issued by the cabinet division has been left to the concerned ministry.

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education are thinking differently about resuming educational institutions, he said, adding that the Qawmi Madrasa has already been reopened.

On March 17, the government announced the closure of all types of educational institutions due to coronavirus pandemic. 

According to the latest announcement, the closure period of all educational institutions has been extended till October 3.
