Corona death toll crosses 5,000-mark

The deadly Covid-19 virus has so far claimed more than 5,000 lives in the country with 28 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the total number of deaths has now reached 5,007.

A total of 1,557 new infections were recorded in the meantime after testing 14,164 samples across the country in the last 24 hours.

The total number of infectious people is 3,52,178, added the release.

Meanwhile, 2,073 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, totaling the number of recoveries 2,60,790.
