Sculpture controversy to be resolved within a week: State Minister for Religion
State Minister for Religion Faridul Haque Khan has said that Bangladesh does not do any work keeping the mark of communalism and for this reason the Ministry of Religion is taking action on what needs to be done for a secular Bangladesh.
Regarding the ongoing situation with the sculpture, he said that many of the problems have already been resolved. The Ministry of Religion believes that the sculpture controversy will be fully resolved within the next one week.
He was responding to a question from reporters after exchanging greetings with district administration, Awami League leaders and Jamalpur Press Club leaders at Jamalpur Circuit House on Saturday.
Later, the state minister for religion took part in an exchange of views in the conference room of the deputy commissioner. State Minister for Information Murad Hasan spoke at the time.
Central Awami League Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam MP, District Awami League President Advocate Muhammad Baki Billah, Engineer Mozaffar Hossain MP, Hosney Ara MP, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Haque, Superintendent of Police Md Delwar Hossain and Zila Parishad Chairman Faruk Ahmed Chowdhury were present on the occasion.
Later, on the initiative of Islampur Upazila Awami League, a public reception was given to the new Minister of State for Religion at Islampur High School ground.
Awami League Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam MP was the chief guest at the public reception.
