MPs demands resume educational institutions

Parliamentarians have demanded the reopening of educational institutions closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Several members of the ruling party made the demand while participating in the discussion of the motion of thanks on the President's speech on Wednesday. Earlier, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury presided over the sitting.

Taking part in the discussion, Motahar Hossain of Lalmonirhat-1 constituency called for the reopening of educational institutions and said that education has been hampering due to the closure of educational institutions during the Corona period. Although virtual classes are being held but the students of the villages are not gaining benefits much. Therefore, educational institutions should be reopened as soon as possible.

Another member of the ruling party, Solaiman Haque Joarddar, echoed the same. He said the ministry should take a final decision on reopening educational institutions. He urged to resume educational institutions in compliance with the health rules.
