Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said he will take the first shot of Covid-19 vaccine in the country.

"I will get the vaccine first," he said while responding to a query from reporters after the meeting on Thursday.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal chaired the meeting.

The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement has approved a proposal to buy Covid-19 vaccines at a cost of Tk 1,273.55 crore.

As per the proposal, the Department of Health Services will purchase three crore doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine directly from Serum Institute of India.
