Shakib-Mustafiz have to return home under 'special arrangements'
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury has said that special arrangements are being considered for the return of cricketers Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman who visited India to play in the IPL.
Coronavirus infections and deaths are on the rise in India; that is why all communication between Bangladesh and India is currently closed.
Regarding their return from India, Nizam Uddin said, “The flight is not running. They (Shakib-Mustafiz) have to be brought in the country in a special arrangement or they have to come in a special arrangement.”
The BCB is also trying to make special arrangements for the quarantine of Shakib and Mustafiz, he added.
Shakib has played three matches for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL this time while Mustafiz played all the seven matches of Rajasthan Royals.
The probable date for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka at home is May 23. There is still time for these two cricketers for the two-week quarantine to play the series.
The IPL was postponed on Tuesday afternoon considering the worst situation of Coronavirus in India.
