Virtual court to be run again: Chief Justice
Chief Justice Hasan Fayez Siddiqui has said that they are seriously considering running the judiciary - both the divisions of the country's Supreme Court, namely the Appellate and High Court divisions - virtually in the wake of Corona’s transmission.
The Chief Justice said this while conducting daily proceedings in the Appellate Division on Tuesday morning.
“We are seriously considering the issue of virtual courts,” he said.
The Chief Justice said, “ a total of 13 judges of the High Court Division were tested corona positive so far. Besides, many staff of the Supreme Court has also been infected with the virus. Many lower court judges were also affected by Corona. In such a situation it will be difficult to run the court.”
At the time, Deputy Attorney General Biswajit Debnath said that many others, including the Attorney General and the Additional Attorney General, were infected with the Corona virus.
A circular on virtual management of the Supreme Court may be issued in a couple of days.
