Dhaka 7th least liveable city in the world: EIU
According to a yearly assessment from the Economist Intelligence Unit, Dhaka is now the seventh least livable city in the world, jumping up three points from its ranking in 2021.
As Tripoli, Algiers, and Karachi fell in rank, the capital of Bangladesh rose. According to the EIU, the change was mostly brought about by the removal of pandemic limitations.
On the Global Liveability Index for 2022, which was released on Thursday, Dhaka received a score of 39.2 out of 100 and was ranked 166th out of 172 cities. It received a 33.5 in the ranking for 2021.
Stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure are the five main variables that the EIU index considers.
The worst-ranked city was still Damascus in war-torn Syria.
The top end of the rankings was largely dominated by cities in western Europe and Canada.
