Following a six-day closure due to the severe floods in the region, flight operations at the MAG Osmani International Airport in Sylhet have resumed.

According to reports at the airport, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane left for Manchester in the afternoon on Thursday while domestic flights have been running since the morning.

On June 17, the authorities paused all airline operations as floodwaters swamped the runway before closing the airport for three days.

On Sunday, the water started to drain, and by Monday, the runway was almost completely dry.

Every day, a good number of aircrafts use the airport, usually flying between Sylhet and Dhaka and London.
