Bourses keep moving up
Country’s both the stocks continued gaining streak for the fifth straight sessions as investors continued their buying spree becoming optimistic by regulatory measures.
At the premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the broad index, DSEX settled at 4978.32 points on Tuesday with a gain of 19.14points or 0.38 percent, reports BSS.
Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went up by 10.31 points and 7.51 points to settle at 1734.23 points and 1150.20 points respectively.
On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 235,793 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 400.65million securities.
On the other hand, DSE’s turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 11.90 billion from Taka 9.76 billion in the previous session.
Losers took lead over gainers as out of 357 issues traded, 156securities gained price while 168 declined and 33 remained unchanged.
The market-cap of DSE increased to Taka 3,756 billion which was Taka 3,736 billion in the previous session.
The top 10 gainers were Fareast Knitting, AND Telecom, Runner Auto, Aamra Net, International Leasing, FAS Finance, Fu-Wang Ceramics, Agni System, BD Thai and Central Pharma.
Beximco Pharma topped the turnover chart followed by Beximco Limited, Delta Brac Housing, Orion Pharma, Brac Bank, Grameenphone, Fu-Wang Food, National Polymer, National Tubes and BD Finance.
The top ten losers were Jute Spinners, Pragati Life, Zeal Bangla Sugar, SEML LEC Mutual Fund, Savar Refractories, CNA Tex, Dulamia Cotton, United Air, Meghna Condensed Milk and Peoples Insurance.
On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed trading at green extending the winning streak of previous day.
CSCX and CASPI rose by 30.68points and 53.91 points to stand at 8571.29 points and 14219.57 points respectively.
At CSE, a total of 17,452,469 share and mutual funds of 274companies were traded, of which 135 issues advanced while 105 declined and 34 issues remained unchanged.
