DSCC declares holiday Thursday to pay tribute to Khoka

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has declared Thursday as holiday in honour of the death of former mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation Sadeque Hossain Khoka.

All activities of the city corporation and its regional offices will remain closed on the day, said Uttam Roy, PRO of DSCC.

Khoka, a former mayor and BNP vice-chairman, died at a New York hospital on Monday at the age of 67.

His namaz-e-janaza will be held at the city corporation premises around 3pm on Thursday.

The DSCC authorities have requested all to take part in the namaz-e-janaza of Khoka.

DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon has expressed deep shock at the death of Khoka, Dhaka’s former mayor and also a freedom fighter.
