Poisoning kills 3 children in Sunamganj

Three children were killed and their mother was in critical condition after drinking poison in Jamalganj of Sunamganj, police have said.

Confirming the matter, Jamalganj Police Station Officer in Charge Dileep Kumar Das said the incident happened at around 10:30am on Sunday. However, whether the children took the poison willingly or were forced to do so, could not be immediately confirmed.

Police said that out of anger at her husband, a woman along with her three children drank poison, after which the children died.

The deceased were identified as Sakiba, 15, Tambir, 13, and Sahed, 5.

Their mother, Jamuna Begum, 35, is the wife of Jahangir Hossain of Shantipur village under Fenarbak union. She was admitted to the MAG Osmani Medical College in Sylhet.
