2 killed as lorry plunges into ditch in Faridpur

Two people were killed and five others injured as a lorry fell into a ditch at Shibrampur in Faridpur Sadar upazila on Dhaka-Khulna highway on Saturday morning.

The identities of the deceased couldn’t be known immediately.

Nurul Alam, Senior Station Officer of Faridpur Fire Service, said the Faridpur-bound lorry coming from Dhaka fell into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving two people dead on the spot.

The injured people were sent to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital, he added.
