Jubo League leader killed in Chittagong gunfight

A local leader of Jubo League was killed in an alleged gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in front of world trade centre in Agrabad area under Double Mooring Police Station in Chittagong on Sunday night.

He was identified as Khurshid Ahammad, senior vice-president of Jubo League’s Ward unit 28.

Khurshid was accused in eight cases filed with various police stations in Chattogram.

Commander of Rab-7 Lt. Col. Mohammad Mahbubul Alam said there had been a gunfight between a Rab patrol team and a group of armed criminals around 10 pm on Sunday.

Later, Khurshid’s body was recovered from the spot, he said.

The elite force found three firearms and 12 bullets on the scene.
