Housewife beaten to death in Araihazar

A housewife named Kulsum Akhter, 18, has been beaten to death in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj on Sunday night.


The incident took place in Karaitala village of Bishnandi union of the upazila, said Araihazar OC Nazrul Islam.

Police recovered the body of the deceased on Monday morning, he said.

The deceased, Kulsum, was daughter of Abdul Haque of Manikpur village of the same union, said the OC, adding that victim's husband Shah Alam has been absconding since the incident.

He said police had already arrested Kulsum's father-in-law Abdul Jalil Mia and mother-in-law Kulsum Begum for questioning.

Preparations are underway to send the body to Narayanganj Hospital morgue for autopsy.
