4 forest robbers killed in Sundarbans gunfight

Four alleged forest robbers, including the chief of Aminur Bahini, were killed in a 'gun battle' with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Sundarbans. 


The incident took place on Tuesday morning at the Kaira Canal nearby Shibsa River in Khulna Range of the Sundarbans, said RAB-6 ASP Tofazzal Hossain.

At least two members of RAB were injured during the gunfight.

Of the deceased, two were identified as Aminur Islam, chief Aminur Bahini, and his second-in-command Rafique.

The identity of the other two is not known yet. However, they were also reported to be active members of the bandits.

A wooden boat containing weapons, ammunition was recovered from the scene.
