Trucker, helper killed in Habiganj crash

A trucker and his helper were killed and one was injured in a collision between two trucks in Bahubal of Habiganj.


The accident took place in Mouchak area of the Upazila on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway early Saturday.

The deceased were identified as trucker Babu Mia, 32, son of Ahmed Ali of Nakrach Para area of Chapainawabganj and Rahmat Ali, 35, son of Mostafa Ali, helper of the driver, hailed from the same area.

Officer in charge (OC) of Shayestaganj Highway Police Station Md Jasim Uddin said the traffic was halted for half an hour after the accident.

The bodies will be sent to Habiganj Modern District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Two trucks are now in police custody.
