Fire at Jahur Hawkers Market under control

A fire that broke out at the Jahur Hawkers Market in Chittagong City has been brought under control.

The fire service sources said the blaze erupted at the busy market in the port city around 3:30 am on Saturday. 

On information, 15 units of fire service went to the scene and started controlling the fire. 

After about two and a half hours frantic effort, the fire fighters took the control of the devastating fire at around 5:45 am.

However, no casualties were reported yet.

The cause of the fire was not known immediately. Besides, it was not confirmed yet about the extent of damage to the fire.
