Two youths killed in Teknaf 'gunfights'

Two youths were killed in separate 'gunfights' with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.


The gunshots were reported on Sunday morning on the banks of the Naf river adjacent to Maheshkhaliya para of the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Rahim Uddin alias Rafiq, son of the late Abdul Jalil, of Huaikong Kanjar Para of Teknaf and Md Aziz, 20, son Saleh Ahmed of Dail Para area of Sadar Union, said Teknaf-2 BGB captain Lt. Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan.

According to BGB and police, the two men were involved in the drug trade. Drugs and weapons were recovered from the scene, they added.
