7 killed in Panchagarh road crash

Seven people were killed when a passenger bus collided with a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Tentulia upazila of Panchagarh.

The accident took place on Panchagarh-Tentulia highway in Magurmari Chowrasta of the upazila on Friday.

Niranjan Sarkar, station officer of Panchagarh Fire Service, confirmed the casualties.

All the victims were passengers of the auto-rickshaw, he said, adding that the identity of the victims was not immediately known.

Five people were killed on the spot while one of two injured died on the way to hospital and another succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Hospital.

Until the last news got at around 2:45 pm, locals kept the highway blocked.
