'Rohingya robber' killed in Teknaf 'gunfight'

An alleged Rohingya robber has been killed in a gunfight with police in Cox's Bazar. 

The victim is Mahmudul Hasan, 37, son of late Bakar Ahmed, of H block of Mouchani area of Nayapara refugee camp in Teknaf. 

The incident took place on Thursday morning in the hilly area of Shalbagan Rohingya camp under Hinla Union of Teknaf.

Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das said a foreign pistol, three domestic weapons, two magazines, 18 rounds of bullets, 13 rounds of fresh cartridges, 15 rounds of empty cartridges were recovered from the scene. 

Three police constables - Mithun Joy, Shaheen and Habib - were injured in the incident.
