Tahsan–Mithila announce divorce

Popular couple Tahsan Rahman Khan and Rafiath Rashid Mithila have decided to get a divorce. Tahsan announced it his verified Facebook page.

 

'It is with heavy hearts that we would like to jointly announce that we are getting divorced. After several months of trying to reconcile our differences, we have decided that we would rather go separate ways than being in a relationship out of social pressure.'

 

'We realise that this probably comes as a shock to a lot of you and we wholeheartedly apologise about that. We have always conducted our relationship with dignity and grace, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner. We hope you will all treat us both with kindness during this difficult phase of our lives,, said Tahsan’s Facebook status, repots UNB.

 

Fans shocked at their decision and they replied to their announcement with anger and mixed reaction.

 

A fan of his verified page Farjana Hoque commented “this is totally unfair. It breaks our belief. We thought that you are the idol of all actors and actresses but this is wrong now. After hearing that I totally neglect their saying about separation but I was wrong. Now you are as the usual couple like others in media. I can't accept. I'm neither a fan of Tahsan’s song nor a fan of Mithila's performance. But I was a fan of that cute couple.”

 

Tahsan was an IBA student while Mithila was a political science student from Dhaka University with a family background in the media.

 

They first met in 2004 and love blossomed in the university campus. The couple tied the knot on August 3, 2006.

 

Tahsan reached stardom initially through the band Black and went on to become a successful solo singer.

 

Mithila is a well-known model and has appeared in ads for Merril, Bajaj, Close up and Aktel.
