The BNP rally has begun around 2:30pm on Monday in the capital's Dholaikhal.
Wearing colourful caps, carrying placards and posters, and chanting anti-government slogans, hundreds of party leaders, supporters and activists were joining the rally by group by group.
Chief guest BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir reached the venue around 4:30pm while standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan joined the rally as special guest.
Dhaka South city unit of the BNP took the initiative to hold the rally.
A good number of law enforcement personnel have been deployed in the Dholaikhal area.
