Namaz-e-janaza of Moinuddin Khan Badal held

The first namaz-e-janaza of Moinuddin Khan Badal, lawmaker from Chattogram-8 constituency, valiant freedom fighter and leader of a faction of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), was held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad on Saturday.

Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid rich tributes to Badal by placing a wreath on his coffin in the morning.

After placing the wreath, the prime minister stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Badal.

Flanked by senior leaders and parliament members of the party, Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League president, laid another wreath on the coffin on behalf of the party.

On behalf of President M Abdul Hamid, his military secretary placed a wreath on the coffin of Badal.

Badal, the executive president of a faction of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), passed away at a hospital in Bengaluru in India on Thursday morning.  He was 67.
