Ranga apologizes to nation at JS
Opposition Chief Whip and Jatiya Party Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga has apologized to the nation for his recent derogatory remarks over Noor Hossain.
"I apologize to everyone," he said while addressing in the Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday evening.
I've been suffering from fever for three days. I might be wrong during speaking on Noor Hossain," said Ranga.
Ranga at a discussion marking Noor Hossain Day on Sunday termed Noor Hossain an Yaba-addicted, a Phensedyl abuser.
His remarks have been a hotbed of criticism from various sections, including the government, opposition parties.
The family of Noor Hossain, who braced martyrdom in protest against the autocratic movement, has condemned and protested the comment of Ranga.
They demanded the resignation of Ranga for making the heinous false comment.
The family of martyr Noor Hossain staged the protest rally in front of the National Press Club in the city on Monday afternoon.
Noor Hossain's uncle Kala Chand said, "Noor Hossain is a symbol of democracy. People will judge what Ranga has said about him. After making such remarks, he is no longer eligible to be a Member of Parliament. We want his resignation."
Noor Hossain's mother Moriam Bibi, three brothers - Ali Hossain, Delwar Hossain, Anwar Hossain, sister Shahana Begum along with their children participated in the program.
Noor Hossain, a young pro-democracy activist who sacrificed his life to end the autocratic regime of HM Ershad on November 10, 1987.
