Dedicated workers to be made AL leaders: Quader
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that the leaders will be those who have sacrificed for the party in the hardest time.
He also said that leaders can be made neither chanting slogans nor hanging billboards with pretty pictures.
Moreover, the days are over to make a leader by using muscle power, Quader also said.
The AL General Secretary made the comments with heavy heart and anger as the activists of Chittagong District North Awami League were chanting slogans by the names of leaders during his speech at the triennial conference of Chittagong Awami League.
He got angry as the AL leaders also engaged in brawling before inauguration of the conference over sitting in the first row of the event.
Pointing to the party men, Quader said everything has a limit. You should keep in mind that the leaders will be made according to the rules of the party.
Quader was speaking as the chief guest at the conference held at Laldighi Maidan in Chittagong on Saturday afternoon.
He also said, "I want to make it clear that you will not bring the bad men to the Awami League to make the party heavy. We have many people; we have no need to hire a bad man. We don't need a worker like the killers of Abrar Fahad of BUET. We do not need like the people of Chittagong University who engage in fights following silly matters. We do not need such a worker of 8 who throws the principal into water."
