Shakib likely to face 18-month ICC ban
Shakib Al Hasan, the country's cricket super star, is likely to face an 18-month ban by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the world's highest regulatory body, due to keeping gamblers’ proposal secret.
Two years ago, Shakib received an immoral offer from a cricket gambler (bookie) before an international match.
He immediately denied it but hid it without informing the ICC's Anti-Corruption Department.
Tracking all call records of international gamblers, the ICC proved it. The gambler is one of the ICC's blacklisted.
Shakib also spoke to the representative of ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) recently after the matter was fully confirmed.
According to reliable sources, Shakib also confessed the matter to ACSU investigating officers.
