Former Bogra MP Momin Talukder to die for War Crimes

The International Criminal Tribunal (ICT) has sentenced former Bogra MP and BNP leader Abdul Momin Talukder alias Khoka to death for crimes against humanity in 1971.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Md Shahinur Islam pronounced the verdict on Wednesday.

In the verdict, the tribunal said that all the three allegations brought against Momin Talukder have been proved beyond doubt and he was sentenced to death in all three cases.

Momin Talukder was a fugitive when the verdict was announced.

Abdul Momin Talukder was charged with three counts of crimes against humanity during the war of liberation in 1971. Of these, 19 were charged with murder and genocide and 19 houses were looted and set on fire.
