Jubo Dal leader’s father allegedly ‘beaten to death’ in Wari

Allegations have been made that the father of a Jubo Dal leader was beaten to death by miscreants at their residence in Wari area of the capital on Wednesday night.

The victim was identified as Millat Mia, father of Faisal Mahbub Miju, former joint convener of Jubo Dal unit of Wari Thana.

On Thursday morning, Wari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kabir Hossain told the media, "We came to know that some youths went to Faisal’s house to look for him around 12:30 am. Faisal was not at home at that time. The young men had an argument with his father Millat Mia. At one point Millat Mia fell ill and fell on the ground. He was then taken to Azgar Ali Hospital where doctors declared him dead.”

The body of Millat Mia will be sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy, he said, adding that no case has yet been filed in this connection.

BNP expressed grief over the incident. According to the condolence message, “Millat Mia is the father of Faisal Mahbub Miju, former joint convener of Wari Thana Jubo Dal.”

BNP also alleged that Millat Mia was beaten and killed by miscreants at his Wari house.
