Metro rail Mirpur-10 opened to traffic

Metro rail Mirpur-10 has been opened to commuters at 8:30am on Wednesday.

The fifth metro rail station came into operation two months after the inauguration of the Bangladesh's first-ever metro rail service in the capital city of Dhaka.

While travelling from Mirpur-10 to Uttara North Station (Diabari), it took just nine minutes.

According to authorities concerned, it is expected that all nine stations between Uttara and Agargaon will go into operation within March this year.

Currently, metro trains are being operated from 8:30am to 12:30pm. 

However, it will go for full-fledged (morning to midnight) operation from July.

On December 28 last year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the country's first-ever metro rail.
