Hyena severs child’s arm at National Zoo in Dhaka

A two-year-old girl child has lost her arm when a hyena made attack on her at the National Zoo in Dhaka.

The incident took place around 11.45 am on Thursday.

Later the child was admitted to National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in the city’s Agargaon.

The child left Gazipur for the zoo with her parents and other family members. She put her arm through the hyena cage's security net while visiting the zoo, and within a short period of time, a hyena bit her arm and severed it, according to the police.
