Dengue patients outside Dhaka increasing: Maleque

The number of dengue patients is rising rapidly outside of Dhaka, while the number of patients has become somewhat stable, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said on Saturday.

"Dengue infections have been rising again lately. Everyone should remain alert about it. With everyone's cooperation, we can overcome this crisis soon," the minister said after visiting the Mugda Medical College Hospital in Dhaka.

The minister also said that while the dengue situation is worsening gradually, the situation is not yet dire enough to declare a health emergency. He also advised people to keep the environment clean.
