A.K. Azad’s election camp vandalized, 5 hurt

The supporters of Faridpur-3 Awami League candidate Shamim Haque vandalized the election office of independent candidate A. K. Azad at 6pm on Tuesday.

At least five people were injured, including Abdur Rahman Janak, joint convener of Ward No. 14 of the Azad Election Management Committee.

Janak was admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital in a critical condition

Abdur Rahman's wife Parveen said, "My husband came under attack by the men of Shamim Haque. I don't know whether he will survive or not. I want justice for this terrorist attack.”

Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Faridpur Sadar Kotwali Police Station, said, “On information, members of the law-and-order forces immediately went to the spot. After getting complaint and subject to investigation, legal action will be taken against the culprits involved in the incident.”
