NAMSS Motors introduces ‘ARBA’ e-rickshaw for eco-friendly urban mobility

To address the growing chaos and safety concerns caused by unregulated battery-run rickshaws and untrained drivers in Dhaka, NAMSS Motors Limited has developed the environmentally friendly ‘ARBA’ electric rickshaw.

Built in accordance with DNCC and BUET guidelines, the ARBA e-rickshaw features an advanced battery system, hydraulic brakes, durable build quality, and internationally certified safety features, said a press release.

Major General (Retd.) A.K.M. Abdur Rahman, Managing Director of NAMSS Motors, stated: “This initiative combines research, safety, and environmental consciousness — a meaningful step toward improving urban life. The ARBA e-rickshaw has been designed to ensure safe and comfortable travel for women, children, and elderly passengers. It aims to introduce a safer, more disciplined urban transport solution operated by trained drivers and aligned with traffic regulations.”

Mokammel Hossain Evan, Director of NAMSS Motors, added as saying: “The ARBA e-rickshaw has been jointly developed in collaboration with Sazzatul Islam, Co-founder of Ezygo. This partnership represents a step toward local innovation to solve real-world mobility challenges.”
