Govt mulls 3 days online and 3 days offline classes in schools, colleges

Considering the global crisis and energy situation, the government is planning to start online classes again in educational institutions in the metropolitan area (except universities).

However, instead of relying entirely on online like during the Corona period, the issue of introducing an integrated or 'blended' education system combining online and offline is being seriously considered.

A detailed discussion on this issue was held in a view-sharing meeting held at the meeting room of the Ministry of Education on Tuesday afternoon with the participation of heads of educational institutions in Dhaka Metropolitan City, education boards and ministry officials.

The meeting made a preliminary decision to conduct classes online three days a week and offline (in person) three days.

The meeting was presided over by Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon.

Blended education system or mixed learning refers to the combination of traditional physical classroom teaching and digital or online technology. In this process, students will attend classes in-persons and will also be taught through online platforms.

All educational institutions in the country were closed in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Later, online classes were started in the educational institutions across the country.
