Ad-Din Hospital’s response not satisfactory: Health minister

The government did not find the satisfactory response to the show cause notice of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) regarding the unnatural deaths of six newborns at the capital's Ad-Din Hospital, said Health Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul.

He has commented that the explanation provided by the hospital authorities contains vague information.

Talking to reporters at the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon, the health minister said that the hospital authorities could not give any clear explanation in response to the show cause notice of the DGHS. 

He said, “The hospital authorities have given all the vague information.”

The minister said that considering the seriousness of the incident, further action will be taken after discussing with all the parties concerned. 

“Necessary decisions will be taken based on investigation and review of the deaths of newborns,” he continued.
